Norman Doxie “Tony”Boeckel, was a member of the 1921 Wild Card Georgia Pines. He hit .263 with an rbi triple in the Wild Card loss to the Shamokin Stogies. In 1923, his final season, he was a member of the SCL Champion Pines. He did not appear in post season play.

Tony Boeckel was a decent hit, poor fielding 3rd baseman for the Pirates and the Braves. He led the league in errors at 3rd in 3 different seasons.
While driving through San Diego with Bob Meusel, Boeckel was involved in a car crash. Meusel escaped with minor injuries, but Boeckel was pinned underneath the car, and died the following day from his injuries.
