                      Drafted in the 3rd round of the 1911 draft by the Wheaton Warbirds. (Pick #35)

                      7th round pick by the Works Turks in 1914. (Pick #87)

                      4th round pick by the Crimson Tide in 1916. (Pick #52)


               In 8 SCL seasons Tom Johnson was a member of 5 Playoff teams, winning an SCL Championship in 1912 with the Wheaton Warbirds, and again in 1917 with Custer’s Crimson Tide.  His post-season record was 2-2, with a 3.41 ERA. His 18 saves in 1911 was 2nd in the league, His 25 CG in 1916 was 2nd in the league, while his 180 K’s placed 3rd in the League.

Tom Johnson played 9 seasons in the Negro Leagues, primarily with the Chicago American Giants. He led the league in wins with 15 in 1916.  After his retirement he was an umpire in the Negro leagues up until his death in 1926.
