Christy Mathewson was the #6 pick in the inaugural SCL draft. He was a 2x 20 game winner, and a 2 time All-Star.(1910, 1913) He played in 3 SCL World Series(1910, 1911, 1913) winning twice with the Gorillas. He was the World Series MVP in 1910, and the ALCS MVP in 1913. He won the series deciding games in both Gorilla Championships.

Christy Mathewson played 17 seasons all but one with the NY Giants. He was a 4 x 30 game winner, a 13 x 20 game winner. He won 5 ERA titles, and 5 strikeout titles. In the 1905 World Series he pitched 3 CG shutouts to beat the Philadelphia A’s. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936.
