Simpson pitched primarily as a reliever for the 1913 Wild Card Virginia Rebels.


Used entirely out of the bullpen by the 1915 SCL Champion Shamokin Stogies. He allowed just 3 ER in his last 19 appearances of the 1915 regular season, posting a 0.94 ERA over 28.2 IP.


He followed that up with 9.2 IP, 2-saves, 0.00 ERA in the 1915 SCL World Series. He pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief in both Games #5, and #7, saving both games, and winning the World Series MVP. They were his last appearances in the SCL.
