Born: January 1, 1946 in Columbia, TN ,
Died: June 19, 2021 in Pilot Point, Texas(75 Years Old)
Robert Dwight McMeen Sr., 75, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021.
He was born January 1, 1946 in Columbia, TN to Robert Taylor and Hattie Mildred (Nichols) McMeen.
Robert married Mollie Mills on March 25, 1966.
Robert served in the United States Army and later retired from the Air Force.
He loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, simulation baseball, bowling, and animals.
Robert was an ordained Baptist Deacon.
Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mollie; son, Robert McMeen Jr. and wife Angela
of Cross Roads, TX; granddaughter, Taylor McMeen of Cross Roads, TX; and three grandsons,
Trey, Ryan, and Ethan McMeen all of Cross Roads, TX.
Bob joined the Second Chance League at the start of the 1920 season, taking over the Tornados franchise. Unfortunately, his Texas Aggies did not make the playoffs in his 5 seasons, falling just short in 1920 and 1922.
He loved to make trades, so many trades that it was sometimes hard to keep up with “Trader Bob”. Bob certainly made the SCL a better league when he joined. His love for the game of baseball and his enthusiasm for the SCL was evident in his numerous correspondences. He will be missed.
Second Chance League Record:
1920: 82-72, 5th Place
1921: 74-80, 7th Place
1922: 80-74, 5th Place
1923: 55-99, 8th place
1924: 53-101, 8th place
