                      Drafted in the 7th round of the 1922 draft by the Shamokin Stogies. (Pick #111)


                       Austin was a member of the 1st Place 1919 Crimson Tide. They lost to the Caterpillars in the NLCS. He appeared in 1 game as a pinch hitter going 0-1. In the 1920 Wild Card game he hit just .063(1-16) in a 5 game loss to the Warbirds. McHenry hit .269 with 2 Hrs in a 6 game loss to the Terrapins in the 1921 NLCS.

In 1921 Austin McHenry hit .320-19-149 for the Crimson Tide, finishing 2nd in the league in rbi behind Babe Ruth.

Austin McHenry hit .350-17-102 in 1921, finishing in 2nd in the NL in both Avg and rbi.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1922. He died 6 weeks after an unsuccessful surgery to remove the tumor. He was just 27 years old.
