Red Ruffing vs Charlie Root
The Gorillas jumped on Charlie Root for 4 runs in the 1st. Charlie Williams' 2 out 2 run single was the big blow. Root settled down to pitch shutout ball the rest of the way. The Skeeters chipped away, scoring single runs in the 1st, 2nd, and 5th innings. They tied the game 4-4 in the 7th on an rbi double by Al Simmons. Extra innings followed.
In the 11th the Gorillas broke the tie when Bob Boken booted a 2-out ground ball off the bat of Herb Smith allowing the go-ahead run to score. In the bottom of the 11th Pepper Martin singled with 1 out. A Rip Collins double scored Martin, and Al Simmons walked it off with a game-winning single.

This one entered the bottom of the 9th tied 3-3. With 2 outs Cool Papa Bell doubled and scored the game-winner on a Pepper Martin single.

Willie Powell vs Pat Malone
Trailing 2-1 in the 7th the Gorillas got a PH rbi double from Laszlo Salazar, and a PH triple by Riggs Stephenson to take the lead 4-2.
In the 9th Al Simmons singled to start the inning. Rap Dixon singled Simmons to 3rd, but got himself thrown out trying to stretch his single into a double. Bob Boken hit a sac fly to score Simmons. The unfortunately named Estel Crabtree grounded out to end the game.

Johnny Allen vs Roosevelt Davis
The Skeeters scored single runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. Jake Dunn had an rbi single in the 1st, and pitcher Johnny Allen had an rbi single in the 2nd. That was all the scoring in the game. Johnny Allen finished with a 3-hit shutout, that included 7 walks.

Charlie Root vs Red Ruffing
With the score tied 1-1 in the 8th, the Gorillas took the lead when Lefty O'Doul singled and 2 outs later was driven home on a pinch hit single by George Scales. Herb Smith tossed a 1/2/3 inning to preserve the win.

Red Ruffing vs Roy Parmalee
The Gorillas led 2-1 with 2 outs in the Skeeters' 7th. Pinch hitter Harry Williams walked, Cool Papa Bell doubled him home to tie the game and Pepper Martin singled Bell in to put the Skeeters up by 1. An Al Simmons solo HR in the 8th put the Skeeters up by 2. Otis Starks pitched a 1/2/3 9th to save the game and clinch the ALCS for the Skeeters.
The Skeeters will meet the Warbirds in the SCL World Series. This is the Skeeters 1st World Series since 1918, and the 1st Warbirds Series since 1920.
