The starters were Barney Morris (AL- Gorillas) and Jim Willis (NL-Crimson Tide).

In the 1st the NL opened up their inning with singles by Leroy Morney (PAWS) and Earl Averill (Caterpillars). They proceeded to pull off a double steal, to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Chuck Klein (Warbirds) singled in Morney, and an Oscar Charleston (Tide) groundout scored Averill.                                NL 2-0

The AL answered back in the 2nd. An rbi single off the bat of Billy Cissell (Vipers) followed an unlikely 1-out triple by Ernie Lombardi (Nine).  A Jud Wilson 2-out single scored Cissell to tie the score.      2-2

Earl Averill singled to lead off the NL 3rd, he would score on Chuck Klein's HR.            NL  4-2

A  2-out PH single by George Scales (Gorillas) scored Arky Vaughn (Nine) to get the AL within 1 in the 6th.      NL  4-3

The NL once again answered back. Pitcher Carl Hubbell (Warbirds) was allowed to bat and dumped a pop single into right. Earl Averill's 2-out 2-run HR into the RF stands extended the NL lead.                 NL  6-3

In the 8th Jimmie Foxx (Racers) came off the bench and promptly smashed a solo HR into the LF stands.    NL 6-4

Satchel Paige (Storm) got the 1st 2 batters out for the NL in the 9th. But the AL rallied. Lefty O'Doul (Gorillas) singled, and Lou Gehrig (Pines) doubled high off the wall in right to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Babe Ruth (Pines) singled in O'Doul, bringing up Jimmie Foxx with 2 runners on, and a chance to win it for the AL. He smashed a shot toward 2nd and defensive replacement Max Bishop speared the grounder and threw to 1st to end the game.   NL  6-5

MVP Earl Averill had 3 hits, with his 2-run HR in the 7th proving to be the game-winner.

The NL have won 3 in a row and have taken a 14-9 lead in the Mid-Summer Classic.
