Comiskey Park was the host of the 21st SCL All-Star Game. Willie Powell (Skeeters) started for the AL, while Double Duty Radcliffe (Warbirds) started for the NL.

In the 1st a Chuck Klein (Warbirds) single drove in 2.  NL  2-0

In the 2nd a 2-out error by Freddy Lindstrom (Warbirds)  loaded the bases for the AL. A Chino Smith (Gorillas) single tied the game at 2-2.

In the bottom of the 2nd, Josh Gibson (Warbirds) hit a 2-out 3-run HR.   NL  6-2

In the 5th rbi singles by Mule Suttles (Starlings), Josh Gibson (Warbirds), and Chuck Klein (Warbirds) put the score at   NL 11-4.

In the 6th Suttles, Gibson, and Klein did it again.   NL 15-4

In the 8th Chuck Klein hit a 2-run HR.  NL 17-4

In the 9th down by 13 truns the AL.....just because...sent up pitcher Lazaro Salazar (Gorillas) to bat against  Satchell Paige (Storm) with 1 out. He singled to deep 2nd. And just because....pitcher Red Ruffing (Vipers) was allowed to bat with 2 men on. He tripled to clear the bases. Jimmie Foxx (Racers) grounded out to end the worst massacre since Custer’s Last Stand at Little Big Horn.     NL   17-7

The 17 runs is the most runs scored by a team in the All-Star game. The 24 runs and the 10 run margin of victory is also a record. The 22 hits tied the record set by the NL in the 1914 All-Star Game.

The 6 hits by Gibson and then 6 rbis by Gibson and Klein are also records.

With his 6-3-6-6 line score, with a 3-run HR, easily makes Josh Gibson (Warbirds)the All-Star MVP.
