Hubbell gutted out 7 tough innings of shutout ball, pitching in and out of trouble all game. In the 8th the Storm opened the inning with 3 straight singles to tie the game at 1-1. A Beauty McGowan single made it 2-1 Storm. In the bottom of the 9th the Warbirds had 2 men on, with 2 outs, but Max Bishop grounded out to end the game.

Satchell Paige vs Garland Braxton
Paige and the Storm took a 7-1 lead into the 6th. Walter Cannady ledoff with a triple and scored on a Bullet Rogan double. Sam West drove him in with a sac fly to make the score 7-3. In the 8th, trailing 7-3, a walk, 2 singles, and an error brought up Rabbit Maranville with 2 outs and 2 men on. He tripled into left-center field to tie the score at 7.
Extra innings followed. In the 13th Sam West opened the inning with a triple. Rabbitt Maranville came through again and won the game for the Warbirds with a walk-off single.

Vic Harris hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 7th for the Storm, tieing the game at 3-3. Extra innings followed. In the 10th with runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out,, pinch hitter Newt Allen laid down a suicide squeeze. He bunted straight back to pitcher Ted Trent, and with Beauty McGowan chugging home with the winning run, Trent inexplicably threw the ball to 1st. Game Over.

Hubbell battled again, giving up 11 hits in 8 IP. The Warbirds also hit Paige hard getting 11 hits off Satch. The big blow of the games was a 2-run double in the 7th by Freddy Lindstrom, helping to seal the Warbirds victory.

Logan Hensley vs Garland Braxton
Logan Hensley took a no-hitter into the 7th inning. The Warbirds scored a run in the 4th on 3 walks, an error and a HBP, to take a 1-0 lead into the 5th. Rbi singles by Julio Rojo and Harry Heilmann put the Storm up 2-1. Trailing 3-1 the Warbirds scored a run in the 8th on a double by Walter Cannady, and an rbi single off the bat of Freddy Lindstrom.
In the 9th the Warbirds loaded the bases with just 1 out. Webster McDonald struck out Cannady and got Bullet Rogan to fly out to end the series.
