The 8th Mid-Season Classic took place at Navin Field, home of the Shamokin Stogies.
Stan Coveleski(Caterpillars) started for the National League and String Bean Williams(Skeeters) started for the American League.
In the 2nd a 2 out single by Doc Wiley(Skeeters) and an rbi single by George Sisler(Vipers) put the AL up 1-0.
The NL answered back in the 4th. Ted Kimbro(Crimson Tide) and Tris Speaker(Caterpillars) singled off Juan Padron(Miners) and both scored on a Joe Judge(Warbirds) triple to put the NL up 2-1.
In the 7th, Rogers Hornsby(Pines) tripled in George Sisler(Vipers) to tie the score at 2-2. Two groundouts failed to bring in Hornsby with the go ahead run.
In the 8th, Louis Santop(Blue Meanies) singled to open the inning. 1 out later Tris Speaker singled him to 2nd. Ray Chapman(Crimson Tide) doubled them both in . Rbi singles from Walter Holke(Caterpillars) and Oscar Charleston(Crimson Tide) made the score 6-2.
Tom Seaton (Crimson Tide) pitched a 1/2/3 inning in the 9th to seal the victory for the NL.
Ray Chapman(Crimson Tide) with his game winning 2 run double in the 8th is the MVP. The National League now holds a 5-3 advantage in the SCL All-Star Game.
